Carrie Brown McWhorter
Writing. Editing. Content. Marketing.
Sharing Stories...I am a writer who values stories and the people who tell them. My goal for every story is simple - to tell it truthfully and to tell it well.
About me I began my writing career as a student at The University of Alabama, writing articles for the UA Alumni Magazine. I learned the importance of marketing, first as an intern at Southern Progress Corporation and later as editor and publisher of my own monthly publication, The Alabama Reader. In 1995, I began writing for The Alabama Baptist newspaper. In the years since, I have written hundreds of news and feature articles on topics related to faith, health, and travel. I have been Content Editor at TAB Media since January 2019. I have won several writing awards: "Faith and Family" - First Place, BCA Wilmer C. Fields Award, Feature Writing Series/Package "War on Poverty" - Third Place, BCA Wilmer C. Fields Award, Feature Writing Series/Package "Protect Your Church at Christmas" - Third Place, BCA Wilmer C. Fields Award, Single Article 750-1,000 words "Planning Ahead Helps Make Nursing Home Choices Easier" - First Place, 2007 Evangelical Press Association Cause of the Year Category On occasion, I coach writers, write curriculum for Woman's Missionary Union, and help small businesses and organizations with grants and marketing. In my free time, which is rare these days, I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy reading, cycling, and listening to audiobooks as we explore the highways of America in our RV on our quest to visit all 50 states. I don't have a lot of time to blog these days, but you can read some of my past posts here: At the Corner of Faith and Family. |
